She studied at the Culinary Institute of Mexico from 2003 to 2007.After studying and traveling throughout Mexico, in 2007 she embarked on one of her greatest challenges as the executive chef of the Arena Monterrey, where she created the catering department for artists, overseeing more than 150 staff members catering to artists like Evanescence, Daft Punk, Billy Joel, Hilary Duff, Poison, Guns and Roses, The Hives, Iron Maiden, Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Scorpions, Cranberries, Ennio Morricone, Black Eyed Peas, Electric Light Orchestra, Chicago, Journey, Franz Ferdinand, Star Wars orchestra, Stone Temple Pilots, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Santana, and more. After five years at Arena Monterrey, her restless spirit led her to travel to NYC, New York, Scottsdale, Arizona, La Joya, California, and Saint Simons Island, Georgia, where she worked in high-end restaurants and resorts like Four Seasons and Sea Island. In 2013, in collaboration with the Municipality of San Pedro and the private sector, she launched one of the most emblematic projects of her career: San Pedro Restaurant Week. This initiative aims to promote and position local gastronomic entrepreneurs.

In 2017, she opened OkBaldio, a smoked cuisine initiative, and in 2019, a second restaurant, Taquería Josefa, representing her characteristic casual and northern-style taqueria. With the arrival of the pandemic, she initiated Bad H’ass Burger, a concept merging OkBaldio and Josefa with hamburgers. She later decided to close these ventures to pursue another dream.

Currently, she is one of the few bilingual grillmasters in Mexico, bringing a fresh and unique approach to any event. She also has her own brand of homemade sauces, @ChefCecyGon, featuring 7 unique varieties not commonly found in the market. Her sauces enjoy great success and popularity among consumers nationwide.
